GX Mode ("we," "our," or "us") operates the GX Mode mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using GX Mode, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Username and display name
- Profile picture (if uploaded)
- Favorite college football team selection
- Password (stored securely via hashing — we never store plaintext passwords)
Authentication Data
If you sign in using a third-party provider (Google or Apple), we receive your name, email address, and profile image from that provider. We do not receive or store your third-party account password.
User-Generated Content
We collect content you voluntarily provide, including:
- Chat messages sent in team and community channels
- Images uploaded to the Service
- Reactions and replies to other users' messages
Payment Information
If you subscribe to GX Mode Pro, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:
- Device type, operating system, and browser information
- IP address
- Usage data and analytics (pages visited, features used, session duration)
- Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Create and manage your account
- Deliver real-time chat and community features
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send push notifications (with your consent)
- Apply team-based theming and personalization

4. Advertising
Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob/AdSense. These ad services may use cookies, device identifiers, and other tracking technologies to serve personalized ads based on your interests and browsing behavior.
GX Mode Pro subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience — no ads are displayed and no ad-related tracking occurs for Pro users.
You can manage your ad personalization preferences through your device settings or by visiting Google Ad Settings.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the platform, including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Google (advertising).
- Other Users: Your username, display name, profile picture, and chat messages are visible to other users of the Service within the relevant channels.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GX Mode, our users, or the public.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase (built on Amazon Web Services) and Vercel. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Row-level security policies on all database tables
- Secure password hashing
- Access controls and authentication for all API endpoints
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information and user-generated content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Chat messages may be retained in anonymized form for community integrity. Payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting obligations.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
